Quality Of Service Report For Ashanti Region (May, 2010)
As part of licence conditions, Cellular Mobile Operators are required to maintain certain minimum quality of service key performance indicators. In May 2010, the National Communications Authority carried out an assessment of the quality of cellular mobile voice services provided by the operators MTN, Vodafone, Tigo, Zain and Kasapa in the Kumasi Metropolis, Obuasi, Mampong and Konongo Municipalities.

Mr. Paarock Asuman VanPercy - NCA Director General
Mr. Paarock Asuman VanPercy has been appointed Director-General of the National Communications Authority (NCA). The appointment takes effect from 1st June 2010. Paarock brings to the NCA, a career in investment banking, corporate management and administrative practices dating back some twenty five (25) years.
Due to requests received from some prospective applicants for an extension of the deadline for the submission of applications and proposals for Broadband Wireless Access licenses in the 2500 – 2690 MHz band, the Authority has decided to grant a two –week extension.

The Guidelines for the Construction of Communication Towers will be out soon. In view of this, the National Communications Authority (NCA) is taking this opportunity to invite views/comments from the general public so that it can be incorportated in the final draft. Request for Application - BWA License in the 2.5GHz Band
After the successful consultation of the Broadband Wireless Access Public Consultation, the Authority is now inviting applications from eligible Entities for  the grant of the license to establish and operate a Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) service in the 2500MHz – 2690MHz frequency band.

SIM Card Registration 
The Authority in conjunction with the mobile network operators have agreed to commence an exercise to register all prepaid mobile phone owners in the country. This was made known in Accra in a Press Release signed by the Director General of the NCA, Bernard A. Forson.
