Authorisation

Authorisation is another way of obtaining legal basis to install and operate communications equipment.

Types of Licences

Currently, the NCA grants two types of licences for the operation of telecommunications services in the country. These are Class I and Class II Licences. Class I licences are granted for the provision of the following services:

  • Cellular Telephony services
  • Carrier Services

Class II Licences are issued for the provision of services including but not limited to the following:

  • Paging Services
  • VSAT Services

With regard to broadcasting services, the NCA authorises the use of frequencies for the operation of Radio and TV Stations.
