Mobile Number Portability Statistics As Of September 2011NEWS RELEASE – OCTOBER 3, 2011
The National Communications Authority (NCA) is pleased to report that
as of the end of September, 2011, twelve weeks since the commencement
of Mobile Number Portability (MNP), a total of 105,678 mobile phone
subscribers in Ghana had taken advantage of the MNP system to move from
one mobile service provider to another whilst retaining their mobile

The National Communications Authority (NCA) is pleased to report that as of the end of August, 2011, eight weeks since the commencement of Mobile Number Portability (MNP) a total of 64,657 mobile phone subscribers had taken advantage of the MNP system to move from one mobile service provider to another whilst retaining their mobile number. MNP Service ProviderThe National Communications Authority is pleased to announce that the
group headed by Porting Access bv of the Netherlands (commonly known as
PortingXS) along with their local partner, CIS Ghana Limited, has been
named the preferred bidder to provide the central equipment and services
necessary to implement Mobile Number Portability (MNP) in Ghana. MNP WorkshopThe National Communications Authority in conjunction with industry stakeholders held a workshop at the Coconut Grove Regency hotel to present the formalities of Number Portability in Ghana. The workshop was attended by staff of the NCA, representatives of Mobile Operators, Consultants and the media. Below are details of the presentations that were made at the workshop.
