1. What is the aim of the exercise? The aim of the registration exercise is to enable the telecom operators identify mobile phone users

3. If you lose your chip/phone, will this registration help you retrieve all the data that was on it before (especially contacts)? No. You will not be able to retrieve all the information on the SIM card but you can retain your number.
4. Will someone listen in on my conversations? No. The purpose of the exercise is only to enable the telecom operators to tell who uses a particular number or
5. Do I have to pay to register? No. Registration is absolutely free for users. All cost pertaining to the registration is to be borne by the operators and the NCA.
