13. How do you verify the details a person presents, especially those pertaining to work information and address?

The object of the registration is to obtain an identity for the number and since it is for the benefit of the user, it is advisable
that only accurate information should be presented to the registration assistant.

No. That would mean your details are already with the operators so there is no need to register again but you can always go and cross
check just to be sure.

For roaming customers, all you need to do is to submit your passport to any of the registration centers and your number will be registered
on the local network.

When Mobile Number Portability (MNP) is implemented, those details would be made known to the general public

In case you cannot do the registration, someone else can register the SIM in his/her name but the person will be responsible for your
number so register for only people you can vouch for.

21. Is this exercise going to decrease the charges of Service Providers?

The registration exercise is not going to affect the way the telecom operators operate.

22. Who do you report stolen chips/phones to?

In case your mobile phone or chip is stolen, you must report immediately to the police and if your number is registered, also to your
service provide so that your number can be deactivated.

23. If I sell SIM cards, won't this exercise put me out of business?

No. From 1st July, 2010, the pre-activated SIM cards you are selling now will only be replaced by non-activated SIM cards so anyone
who purchases a SIM from you will have to register the SIM before it can be used to make or receive calls.
