With a career spanning various industries, Mrs. Badu worked in the media industry for 7 years and spent another 7 years in the banking sectors, before working in the aviation industry. In 2013, she was appointed as the first substantive Director of Consumer and Corporate Affairs at the National Communications Authority (NCA). In this role, she was responsible for promoting the Authority’s positive image, maintaining close relations with the press and stakeholders, creating awareness about the Authority’s functions and sector developments, and advocating for consumer protection. She assumed this position until March 2025 when she was re-assigned as the Director of Corporate Affairs at the NCA, where she continues to drive strategic communication efforts and stakeholder engagement.
Prior to her appointment at the NCA, Mrs. Badu served as the Head of Corporate Communications at the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, Public Relations Manager at the National Investment Bank Limited, a brief stint as the Public Relations Manager at the Association of Ghana Industries and with the Graphic Communications Group Limited where she was part of various teams responsible for the development of Junior Graphic, working in the UK when the GCCL acquired the West Africa Magazine and reporting activities on the Ghana Stock Exchange. She has also been an independent organisation development practitioner since January 2005, specialising in the development of strategic plans, organisational training, mentoring, and coaching.
Additionally, she has been an independent communications consultant since January 2002, focusing on the development and management of communication campaigns. Mrs. Badu’s professional qualifications include Basic Securities, Advance Securities, Securities Selling, and Investment Advice from the Ghana Stock Exchange. Her dedication to her field, coupled with her wealth of experience and expertise, makes her a valuable asset in the communications and organisational development spheres.
